The Big Siur along Highway One is regarded as the most spectacular Highway road trip on the USA. A windy road, bridges, beaches and mountains yeah I guess it goes alright. It also has a mysterious fog even though it was a warm Californian Summer day.
Drove down Highway 1 and 101 through Eureka onto San Francisco. Passed the largest trees in the world and pretty sure the world largest orange bridge. Even found Bigfoot.
First time in Eugene, unfortunately it was surrounded by bushfires so couldn't go hiking. I compromised so instead I went out drinking mostly and a little shopping. Continued the drive along the coast till I head to turn left for Eugene. Most vistas of views, beaches and trees, lots and lots of trees.
Next stop is Newport, I was here 10 years ago so thought I'd check it out again. It has a lighthouse, amazing sunsets, a bridge and seals. It's also the place I was at when the Queen passed away, guess I won't forget where I was when that happened.
