Hilarious you call it a “chilly 52°C.” All the same, it gets really hot in the summer, especially in the desert part of California.

One of my favorite childhood memories was a family vacation in Death Valley. We “stayed” in our van at night and drove around during the day. Many years later, I found out that the parents had to keep the van running to be able to use the heater while us kids slept. Apparently it cooled down significantly at night, during our trip.

I’ve been to a few deserts and that’s my experience at night. I’ve not spent a night in the park preferring that little city Las Vegas to the east. It’s an amazing part of the world and hopefully when I get back there one day I might try and camp overnight
