It was in July 2012 when I found myself in Tikal. December 21 later that year according to the Mayan Calendar was the world ending. Fortunately we are all still here even if we are struggling a little in 2020. We’l get through it, enjoy Sunday.

Hi Rebecca,
An easy way to visit Tikal is to take a day trip from San Ignacio in Belize. Now Guatemala also has its interest, especially the former capital Antigua, but I found Belize a little easier.

I’ve only visited Antigua, and I’d love to discover more of Guatemala, including Tikal. Interesting that it’s easier to access via Belize!

I think it’s a 3 to 4 hours by taxi from the Belize border. I got a flight there from Guatemala City and stayed in the park overnight, amazing
