Sadly due to Covid recently Qantas Airlines has mothballed it’s long-haul its fleet and is making airline staff redundant. While Australia hopes to have domestic travel up and running sometime soon it could be years until a vaccine for Covid is found, if one is found. Meaning it will be a while until overseas travel is once again realised.
I’ve decided to post a photo a Day of places Ive been fortunate to visit around the world. This will also keep my website content fresh until that next trip. The first photo is of my favourite museum, the Louvre in Paris, France. Since 1999 I’ve visited Paris 4 times and my favourite photo is of the Pyramid outside the Louvre during a purple dusk.
Take care everyone and fingers crossed we can all get out there and start traveling once again soon.

No hurry, Le Louvre is still closed to public and Mona Lisa will keep smiling for a while.

Yeah I don’t miss Mona particularly and may be a while to the next visit. I’m patient

Image so reminds me of Paris and the Louvre, which I love. I have spent a lot of time in Paris, and France generally. I had hoped borders may open in 2020, but that looks like a forlorn hope at the moment.

I love Paris, for now I guess it will be reliving it their old photos. Hopefully we can all get back there soon 🙂

Thanks a lot. It is looking lovely. The pyramid has its own history as it was added only much later and is not part of the original architecture of the Louvre.
As you go into it and underground its lovely the ways it connects to the different parts of the museum.
The pic is wonderful

I’m just looking through the photos from our trip to Aus last year. Northern Territory, Kakadu, Queensland, Port Douglas to Brisbane, then Sydney to Melbourne. We miss the whole place but especially my daughter who lives in Manly. We’ll meet again, don’t know where, don’t know when… Stay safe (and that means definitely avoid the UK for the foreseeable…)

Fortunately I went on overseas for 8 months of traveling in 2019 which was amazing. This included down south during the UK Heatwave, amazing last year just really unfortunate now what’s going on with Covid and crowds. The borders between Queendsand, the NT and NSW are due to open apparently in a few weeks, keeping my fingers crossed. Stay safe 🙂

Indeed a very lovely picture. I have been to Paris many times and we even lived there for 2 1/2 years (2012-2015). I am also longing to be back on the road but I don’t when that will happen…(Suzanne)

It may be a while I believe, all we can do is travel our own areas for now and one day this will all be sorted. Paris is truly amazing and it’s sad to think it’s at a standstill, one day it will all open up again. Stay safe 🙂

Beautiful photo, thank you Dave. We visited Paris every vacation for last 10 years and the Louvre is one of our favorite places. We miss this city so much, and I hope one day our family will move to Paris to visit its museums frequently:)

Nice one living in Paris will be amazing, I’m sure you will get there. In the mean time I like to post old photos and do a bit of travel around my own country waiting for the world to open up once again. Stay safe 🙂

Stunning picture. Can you believe I’ve only been to Paros once and didn’t go to the Louvre? Only saw it from outside at night. I need to return! Would love to see this view.

Nice one, it’s actually my favourite attraction in Paris. You can spend days in the museum and not cover it all. Paris at sunset is beautiful
