The are of Newtown in which I live, postcode 2042, is starting to pick up again slowly post Covid. Unfortunately the bars are mostly shut, retail and restaurants are much the same.
In the meantime there is plenty of opportunity to walk the streets and reel off a few photos of my neighbourhood which I thought I’d share.
If your able and allowed to, go take a look at your area. I’m sure there is plenty of interesting things to see that we usually take for granted

They are quite beautiful pictures, Dave!

Great street art pix. I have been to Sydney a fair few times but not recently – I think the last time was 2012. On some of those visits I stayed in Surrey Hills and that shot of the row of tiny terraced houses with the little balconies reminds of Surrey Hills as quite a few of the streets around there have the same style of houses.

Surry Hills is a great suburb, I lived there for a long time. Both areas are traditional working class and have a lot of terrace houses. Both suburbs are near each other ๐

Great idea to encourage people to look around and see the beauty that is there. I love the gnarly tree in the cemetery. Your neighborhood looks very interesting–great art.

Thanks yeah I figure you don’t have to travel far to find something interesting. My area is the “alternative” part of Sydney, lots of strange wonderful things ๐

Love the photos, very beautiful murals, and also the cemetery. One town a few miles over from us is filled with murals, I should take a drive over and get some pictures.

I think many of us are discovering new neighbourhoods and areas close by that we never even knew about! A plus side of not travelling too far! Stay safe.

Beautiful photos. One of our goals this summer is to reconnect with our town and discover new things here.
